Jennifer Crosby is a news anchor, freelance writer, and proud UVic alumna. Jennifer starts her day at 4 am, preparing for the Morning News on Global Edmonton. Her previous role was as evening news Anchor for CHEK TV in Victoria. Earlier in her career she worked on BC’s North Coast, tackling every job from videographer to host of a current affairs TV show.
Her career highlights include a special report on education behind bars, live reporting on numerous federal and provincial election nights, chatting with Jordan Knight of NKOTB fame, and interviewing actor Kevin Costner inside a private jet.
As a freelance writer, her latest assignment was to report on Victoria’s thriving brunch tradition - combining two of her passions: writing and good food. Jennifer is the recipient of a 2007 Visionaries Under 40 award for media and publishing. She holds a diploma in Broadcast Journalism from BCIT and a Bachelors of Arts in anthropology from the University of Victoria.

Ali Lee joined the Vikes team as a staff member in August 2011 and has been working as the Vikes Communications Officer. Born and raised in Victoria, B.C., Lee has been amongst the UVic community for several years.
In 2004, Lee officially joined the Vikes as a member of the women's field hockey team where she went on to captain the team for four of her five seasons and walk away with one bronze, two silver and one gold CIS medal. She was also honoured consecutively as CIS Rookie of the Year (2004-05) and Player of the year (2005-06), and graduated with four CIS All-Canadian nods (2005-08), three CIS National Tournament 11 (2006-08) awards and one Tournament MVP recognition (2007).
Lee continued to pursue field hockey on the world stage competing for Canada in 43 international matches including participation in the 2005 Junior World Cup (Santiago, Chile), the 2010 World Cup Qualifier (San Diego, USA) and the 2010 XIX Commonwealth Games (New Delhi, India).
Within her athletic career, Lee found a passion for media, technology and communications despite graduating in 2011 from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. Dedication to both field hockey and the growing world of technology, Lee invested time into promoting the national field hockey team online via their website, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and a variety of other social media platforms. In addition, Lee has also been a long-standing member of Field Hockey Victoria, managing the websites for the local women's, men and junior league websites.
In addition, Lee takes great enjoyment in writing, video production and photography. She hopes to use her experience in sport as an athlete to carry her over towards her professional career in sport communications.

Jacob Helliwell started his university career in 2007. It was a big step, coming from a school of 200 people from pre-school to senior year. Wanting to overcome his shyness, Jacob joined the Political Science Course Union in his first semester at UVic. He enjoyed the experience so much, he started volunteering his time in other capacities. Jacob has volunteered with New Student Orientation, has been a Students’ Society representative on Senate Committees, has been part of a number of clubs, played intramural soccer, and still wishes he had done more. Jacob also completed the Co-operative Education Program, completing one work term in tourism, one on campus, and one for the BC Legislature.
Jacob will graduate this June with a B.A. (Hons.), having studied political science, economics and business. Jacob will be relocating to Calgary this summer to start a job with the Bank of Canada.
