Program Introduction
Start your September off in a green direction this year at UVic’s first annual Green Start Marketplace on Wednesday and Thursday, September 3 and 4. It’s easy to find – just look for the displays set up around the Petch Fountain in front of the Mearns Centre for Learning.

Dozens of community businesses, non-profit organizations, UVic groups, vendors, artisans and craft merchants have banded together to create a public market to connect with the UVic community over sustainable practices, products and services – and you’re invited to jump in and get inspired!

Ease your way into the first two days of classes with live local music and green campus tours or buy some local produce for dinner after brushing up on your Tai Chi and yoga skills on the grass. You’re also invited to check out product demonstrations and giveaways, connect with local non-profit organizations or browse through the racks of sustainably-minded clothing, jewellery and art on a break between classes.
